AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine sect.
The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
